daniel Brooks
I'm curious if anyone out there has worked with the Sony ECM 90bc's. They are not cheap lavs and I'm curious how they sound and hide and generally work in our world. Thanks [-and wash your hands!]
Mobilemike
I played with one at the Gotham Sound Expo last year. It sounded pretty good in the few seconds I spent listening to it. I was very impressed with the complete lack of cable noise too, even when I whipped the cable around and purposely tried to get it to make noise. That was one of the major selling points the Sony rep talked about too. It is a fairly large lav - larger than COS-11, DPA, or Countryman. -Mike

soundchris
They look exactly like the ECM-88: https://pro.sony/en_SG/products/lavalier-and-headset-microphones/ecm-88bpt I own a few of those for almost 10 years and like the sound and the ruggedness. They are smaller and shorter than Cos-11. Downside: sound goes in through small slits on the side left & right. If you put them on a sticky, you have to be very careful not to block the openings. some mounting techs dont work because of the openings on the side. https://cvp.com/product/used_sony_ecm-88bc

evarsimon
I asked about hearing some samples when Gotham was doing their live chat with Sony, as the lack of cable noise is very interesting!
