Johnny Karlsson Posted April 15, 2020 Report Posted April 15, 2020 NIce. I just finished watching the whole movie. I went to the first four Coachella festivals. Back then, it was magical. Especially the first one was like no other festival. It was beautiful. Plenty of space to walk around and one could even sit down in the middle of the field to take a break and chill between seeing acts. I saw Rage Against The Machine, Tool, The Chemical Brothers, Jane's Addiction, Iggy Pop, The Beastie Boys, Squarepusher, Beck, Daft Punk, Underworld to name a few. A couple of the times, I got in for free, since Jane (who's the actual person with the addiction that the band was named after) was doing a performance art piece with some kind of "witch circle" or pagan dance type thing - stuck a point-and-shoot camera in my hand and called me their photographer LOL. About 4 years ago now, I was called for a job shooting interviews "at Coachella", and almost turned it down, thinking I'd probably be walking around the field with gear on for 3 long days. As it turned out, we were set up to shoot sit-downs at a house in Palm Springs. Funny thing is that at least 90% of the people we interviewed said they were not even going to the festival - they were just there to go to parties, promote themselves and/or some product !
