DEITY, ZAXCOM COME TO AN AGREEMENT

Recommended Posts

Los Angeles - Deity Microphones is excited to announce they have signed a license agreement with Zaxcom for 5 patents. This agreement will allow Deity Microphones’ new BP-TRX units to transmit and record audio at the same time when purchased or used in the United States.

The license deal covers all BP-TRX units already shipped to the USA and all new units that will be produced going forward. This means Deity Microphones will now allow USA customers to have access to the international firmware updates starting with Firmware V1.1 (released in early June 2021). Customers who have already placed pre-orders and are awaiting the shipment of their BP-TRX units can perform a firmware update on day one of ownership to unlock all the new features.

“We are thrilled to have worked out an agreement with Glenn Sanders and the Zaxcom team,” Andrew Jones, brand developer of Deity Microphones said. “We are excited to showcase to our US customers the full potential the BP-TRX will have on their video shoots. It’s been a long 2-year journey designing the BP-TRX and this license agreement with Zaxcom is the cherry on top of all that hard work.”

In 2005, Zaxcom released the TRX900 which was awarded a patent for the ability to transmit and record timecode laced audio. It was a world first and was recognized for a technical achievement in 2016 by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences with an Emmy Award and in 2017 by the Motion Picture Academy. In June 2021, Deity Microphones now becomes the first brand ever to have licensed these patents from Zaxcom.

Beautiful!  Andrew Jones and Deity Microphones should be applauded for honoring the Zaxcom US Patents, and for acknowledging the innovative and pioneering products we have seen from Zaxcom, products with such a feature rich suite of game changing capabilities. Now, Deity users will legally be able to benefit from technologies protected by patents. In many industries, including ours, licensing is a vital part of developing and marketing products. Again, kudos to Deity for doing the right thing!
