Hey what’s everybody’s favorite AA rechargeable?

XTAR got ahold of me for giving their batteries a try as well. I think that I have some surprising results from my own tests. I run Wisycom MTP40s’ and MTP60’s. They sent me both their 2700mAh and 3000mAh USB-C batteries to try, along with their 8 bay L8 Pro charger. 
 

With both types of batteries, I got around 18 hours in the MTP40s’ at 20mW!

 

The MTP60 got about 9.5h with the 2700mAh batteries at 20mW, but the transmitter wouldn’t even turn on with the 3000mAh USB-C batteries. 
 

But with the MTP40s’, the run time is absolutely remarkable. 

 

like stated before, the 2700mAh batteries begin to drop charge towards the end of their use, with about two hours going from 100% down to zero. While the 3000mAh USB-C batteries have a long slow decline for the duration of their use. So metering is a matter of preference since I got roughly the same performance time out of both types in the MTP40s’. 
 

With the MTP60, it did show good telemetry with the 2700mAh batteries, so it was nice getting an accurate reading out of them. I’ve been struggling with telemetry readouts from these transmitters since I got them when they first came out. Both Energizer lithiums and Eneloop Pros drop to low battery blinking status fast and give me anxiety because I don’t know when they’re really going to die. 
 

I’d also like to mention that the L8 Pro charger is very compact, which would make it great for traveling with, or building a charging case. 
 

Overall I am impressed with the outcome.

Testing the new annsman pure power 3500 they were a lower run time by about 15min than the xtar 2700 and a worse batt warning system started flashing warning way too early.. So still xtar 2700 for the win.. Better charger quality wise with xtar as well..
