ENDR
Hi, I have a Lectro Venue and it's complicated to turn on and off the antenna power (12v) on it, it needs a disassemble. I know the passive SNA600a can handle that, but tomorrow I need to use the Bowtie passive antenna, and I didn't find information if that has the protection or not. Waiting from a reply from Betso, but not sure it comes in that short time. Mostly I use my Sharkies that's why I don't really want to change things. Thanks
LarryF
Measure the resistance with a multimeter from the center pin of BNC to the metal shell of the BNC. If is an open circuit (or greater than 1000 Ohms) you are OK Best Regards, Larry Fisher
Derek H
Hey Larry, just curious… even when using a passive antenna that has DC protection such as the SNA600a is there any effect on RF performance or other possible side effects from having antenna power turned on? Years ago I was using a Sennheiser quadbox (for ek3041) and I remember getting lots of spray and interference when using two coax whip antennas. The Sennheiser box always had 12V on the antenna inputs.
