Kevin Sorensen
I'm looking for a way to have my name/address/phone # on a small plastic label to identify my sound equipment and case's . How are you all doing that ? Many Thanks.
Chris Durfy
I use a Brother P-touch. The one I have connects to my computer so I can custom print the labels. I also use the Extra Strength adhesive. -Chris
ProSound
I have the same one Chris has at home and I have the $29.99 version in my travel case. Works great for slate labeling and relabeling things in the field. http://www.officemax.com/catalog/sku.jsp?skuId=21076979
Kevin Sorensen
RVD, I just want a small label on my comtek rx's mostly. As I am experiencing some confusion with my rx's that get lost or miss placed with the main mixers rx's on shows that I am doing 2nd unit work on (dayplaying ). Not finding much info here. I want the kind I have seen on LSC, Coffey, Audio dept. Wilcox, rental stuff. They are much smaller than 1" x 2".
David Waelder
PlaqueMaker, a mail & internet plaque and sign company in the Mid-west, will make up custom ID labels at a reasonable cost. They'll work any size that you want. I don't know what the minimum size would be but I think you could probably get something that would fit a Comtek. The ink-infused on metal badge works well on equipment. I haven't had any lettering rub off although I haven't used the labels in places subject to high wear. The cost for a single badge is a bit high but that drops considerably if you buy several. And, I think that they will accept different copy for quantity discount as long as the badge size is constant. That is, four badges, 1-inch by 2-inches that say ON could be bundled with four badges that say OFF for an order of eight badges in that size. I think. Confirm with them. That's what I use for my Lectro and Comtek Rx's.
Freeheel
X3 on the P-touch labellers. Careful though - it becomes a bit of an obsession... My labeller has paid for itself several times over with gear that was returned after being left behind. Like my swiss army knife falling out of my pocket AGAIN... cheers, Brent Calkin

Jim Gilchrist
Hey, Kevin Be sure to put a label inside the battery compartment of Comtek receivers as well. The P-Touch PC is perhaps the only piece of gear I've ever purchased that paid for itself the first week I owned it, by the way. Best regards, Jim
André Boisvert
Tape widths go from 1/4" to 1". Not all of their machines can handle all their sizes.

John Blankenship
The Brother P-Touch labels are available with different adhesives. I've had good success with the ones designed specifically for this application, which is the S series which has "Extra Strength" adhesive for harsh environments, textured surfaces, etc. They also make the FX series which is Flexible ID tape for wrapping and flagging cables, pipes, etc. John B. Thomas Popp
Depending on the equipment, I know a person that can engrave your gear. It looks amazing - and doesn't fall off either!
David Settlemoir
I've been using these guys for a few years. Pretty inexpensive, and none of the labels have come off. ID My Stuff David
