Apparently, Apple doesn't own their own South American division in Brazil, so they have to go through a third-party distributor that adds a hefty fee onto the price. That's a real crime, IMHO. To me, the machines should be the same price all over the world, plus customs duty and V.A.T. (assuming that applies in the specific country). --Marc W.
