solowiej
I've bought these cables from Gotham and now Trew and they work great, if a little pricey. I saw some from China on ebay for $30 and ordered a couple. The Chinese ones give bad hiss and don't work right. I haven't had a minute to open them up and test. Someone at Trew told me the cable requires a resistor in-line somewhere, which the cheaper ebay ones won't have. The ZMT4 manual says nothing about resistors: Wiring is straight 1:1. Anyone know more about this situation? Am I just getting badly wired cables from China, or is there some detail being handled differently? rich
i have never fitted resistors for ZMT input cables. it could (but may not) be one of two things. pin 1 is not connected to the shell of the Lemo the cable is not wired balanced it could also be a poorly shielded cable type. sometimes it is worth paying those extra $$$s for the piece of mind of knowing that the cables you rely on work exactly as you expect. buy once, cry once etc etc.
