r.paterson
Hello I can't find definitive answer looking for real world Users of wired aes42 mics, if using an aes42 mic and in rush forget to set mixer input to analogue mic 48v will the analogue mic be damaged with having aes 10v plugged into it?or other way around 48v into a aes 42 mic? ... Assuming analog mic is electronically balanced and not transformer balanced. Many thanks for any feedback
Matthias Richter
I can only answer the one scenario: my UST accidentally used 48V on a Super-CMIT. Checked the mic and got in contact with Schoeps directly: no problem at all.
Mungo
Well you should avoid it in any case. But: I was lucky, in both scenarios, more than once. Perhaps the AES42 mics have some protection built inside and the P48 aren't harmed by 10 volts.
