Thanks, Crew and Al. And the other Jim G as well for all the great music you post.

The late, great Freddy Fender was born on June 4, 1937. He was in two of my favorite bands, Texas Tornados and Los Super 7 in addition to his long career as a solo artist. He also worked with Crew on a lovely film, The Milagro Beanfield War, playing Mayor Sammy Cantú. Today would have been his 77th birthday. I love his duets with Texas Tornados/Los Super 7 bandmate Flaco Jimenez.

happy birthday Sir Paul

best wishes for a speedy recovery

and thank you Jim for your selection, perfect

I just re-watched the video in a mirror to see what fingerings he was using,

left handed guitar players being such a cosmic mind fuck to a right handed hack guitarist

Lyricist Gerry Goffin passed away yesterday at age 75. Goffin's songwriting partnership with his ex-wife Carole King created a string of pop and R&B hits in the 60's and early 70's. Goffin wrote lyrics for seven Billboard Hot 100 chart-toppers and a total of 59 Top 40 hits. The Shirelles' 1961 single "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" was Goffin and King's breakout hit

Goffin and King cut a demo version of a song they had written for Dee Dee Sharp with their babysitter, Eva Boyd. Eva's unique style of dancing inspired the song. Don Kirshner heard the demo, loved it and released "The Loco-Motion" in 1962. It sold a million copies.
