old school
I got to work on the Stones/Hal Ashby movie with our host JW and Don Coufal in 81. George opened for the Stones when we filmed in Tempe Arizona. In my opinion he and his ultra tight band were better than the RS's if it were a battle of the bands. Of course if you judged them by their song catalog, well no one beats the Stones. CrewC
Jeff Wexler
I remember being backstage right near the steps leading up to the stage and in the dark I saw George Thorogood take a running leap at the stairs, jumped back down, took the run again and again, finally making his entrance as they announced the band. Years later, working on "Almost Famous", Cameron had Russell Hammond (Billy Crudup) do exactly the same thing before one of our concert scenes. Perfect!
