Jeff Wexler
The R.A.M.P.S. Party was a huge success, well attended, good food, good talk and everyone had a great time. Special thanks to Rado Stefano for setting things up so beautifully with assistance and guidance from Jim Feeley. Thanks also to Larry Fisher for his administrative help and supplying the name badges and the state of the art (1980's?) sound system. Thanks to all the companies and dealers who supplied the generous and almost always useful door prizes, K-Tek, Lectrosonics, Zaxcom, Coffey Sound, Sound Devices (and special mention of Lectrosonics who so kindly allowed me to keep the hat I won). Last but certainly not least, thanks to Skylor Morgan his MC duties. Look forward to next year!
Eric Burge
Ditto that Jeff and thanks to you too for your own generous support. It's always good to see old friends and meet new ones too. IMHO, the new Satay venue works well for our group, both patio size and menu variety. Side note for those not present or anyone caught off guard by the intimidating cash demands of doorman Larry: By informal committee decision (i.e., we early birds unanimously declared proxy for all), the entry fee was bumped to $30 this year instead of the traditional $20 of years past. Sorry if this caused anyone financial hardship or embarrassment, but it was decided just minutes prior to the party. The reason for the cover increase is that in the past a few people have been left to settle the tab at the end of the night due to collection shortages and it wasn't fair to those folks. Considering the great food, drink, and phat booty of door prizes it's still a good deal. If you don't like it, take it up with Larry...if you dare! Anyone know how the tab/collection ratio turned out this year? Again, thanks to all who attended and to the sponsors for their continued generosity and support! Hope to see you next year. RadoStefanov
Anyone know how the tab/collection ratio turned out this year? This year the tab went over $1750. "corrected a typo" from 1400 I asked Larry Fisher if he needs money for the difference but He refused and payed it himself. SO... EVERYBODY THANK LARRY. Helped me decide my next wireless purchase. (: Where I come from stuff like that mean a lot.
Scott Smith
Sorry I wasn't able to attend this year. Sounds like a good time was had by all. Would love to hear about anything of interest at the show. --Scott
brunosound
I was really sorry to miss the party this year. It looks like everyone had a great time based on John Coffey's video and it makes me look forward to next year even more. Bruno
RadoStefanov
DO not mean to be knocking Zaxcom. Maybe they would have paid the difference as well. I am sorry if people took my joke seriously. Did not mean to offend anybody. Sorry Glenn. This year the tab went over $1750. Helped me decided between lectro and zaxcom for my wireless purchase. (: Where I come from stuff like that mean a lot.
glenn
No problem Rado. We and other manufactures would of certainly been happy to help if asked. It was very nice of Larry to take care of the difference. Glenn
Jeff Wexler
I feel bad that I left early without checking with Larry (who had agreed from the start to "keep the books" since I am not good with numbers). I feel a responsibility to make the whole r.a.m.p.s. party work (somewhat selfishly since I really enjoy the whole event!). In the past when we have had to kick in some last minute cash to settle up, several of us put in our own money --- this is why we upped the cover charge this year. The suggestions for next year, a buffet and some drink minimums, will solve the problem, so let's drop the issue for this year and just enjoy the fact that it was a great party! RadoStefanov
A Columbian musician friend of mine just had his birthday party there on Friday. I met Jason and thanked him again. We spoke about a buffet and 2-3 drinks coupons for next year.
