Trey LaCroix
I’m looking for a TC master clock to live on my cart and was wondering if a used Denecke GR-1 would still suffice? There is a very cheap one in LSC consignment, but I’m not sure if TC crystal would still be accurate after that long? I imagine it’s between 15-25 years old. Johnny Karlsson
From what I know about LSC consignment, I believe they check/test everything before putting it up on the display for sale. In addition, I think they also give you 30 days return policy, which means you can test it and if it's not working properly, you could return. Maybe I’ll just buy it and run it for 12 hours against one of my sync boxes.
JonG
Theres a pretty cheap GR-2 at Gotham consignment. Newer, and they take up less space on the cart. I have one and it fits perfectly between two comtek base stations (the ones with the readouts) on 1u 19” rack.
r.paterson
All denecke time code Crystals can and should be returned at intervals, it's something easy enough done, so the GR-1 with a retune would be upyo full spec.
JonG
No doubt. Denecke’s service is great. But the space the GR-1 takes up vs the GR-2 is also something to consider.
jason porter
It's probably fine for a budget clock, but if memory serves me, they didn't natively do 23.98. But, I believe they could be converted. The Gr-2 is probably a better value, especially if you want to resell it, also, Trew has a couple ACC 501 on their consignment page.
