Jim Gilchrist
On the red user forum a guy said. Schoeps is Acura and sennheiser is chevy. No man. Schoeps is Mercedes and sennheiser is AUDI SOmehow he believes that sennheiser is shit. Maybe he read some of your posts in the thread where you were ranting about needing to get in touch with somebody at Sennheiser over a pair of mismatched mics you had purchased used? Just maybe, Jim

soundmanjohn
Working on a theatre show with a composer who's spending his breaks doing music for a friend's film. He's doing it for free and I asked him what the film was shot on: "They used a RED camera - it's the best." I've sent him the link and he's looking thoughtful... jeoh
I believe that "Subway Tuna" will go down in the annuls of history. Great line, great film and great job! Laughing my 4K off!
jhaudio
I'm still relatively a newbie to the politics of negotiating. I recently used the same line of "that rate is lower than my normal rate but okay," and they still gave me the "I'll call you back in 10 minutes," and I never heard back from them. Right, because you've given them a low rate and now they'll use that to get a quote that's lower from the next guy on the list. Eric
LarryF
Or go back to haggle with someone that has given them a higher quote. mikefilosa
I believe that "Subway Tuna" will go down in the annuls of history. Great line, great film and great job! I do like that line, but my favorite one in Marc's work of art - (in reference to wireless miking of a scene with eleven people) ".... did I mention that it is a nude scene?" !! Brilliant! John Blankenship
It can be a hard lesson to learn, but most people value things by how much they cost. Keep this in mind when you're quoting for a job and ask yourself, "How much do I want to be valued?"
Marc Wielage
And just to update this thread: here's a very funny ad from a photographer who has the same problem all sound mixers, DPs, editors, and others do with cheap-ass producers...
