Bilunt
Hi, my first post, hope it’s in the right place. I’ve made cables to connect my Cooper CS106 with my Nagra IV-S via the dedicated Tuchel connectors on the 106 and it’s all working fine and I like the remote roll switch on the 106. One thing though; when setting levels using the 1k tone on the 106 I basically have to have the volume potentiometers 100% clockwise on the IV-S to reach -8db, which I believe is correct. Could someone confirm this is to be expected, or if not, offer advice? Any unrelated advice also welcome. P.S. I’ve very much enjoyed reading some of the other threads here, thank you. tourtelot
You may have incorperated these in your cable but I believe there needs to be some resistors in line with the "hot" from the Cooper. Please correct me, anyone, if this is wrong. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1693501-REG/remote_audio_nagsir_2_rcas_to_7_pin_tuchel.html/overview D. Just found this from Nagra: "Yes, on a IV-S, the input cable must be equipped with a resistor 56 kΩ in series. These inputs are "current inputs." For information, the reference of the original NAGRA cable is QCSE. Regards, F. Guerra"

I guess the question now is, do I need to incorporate resistors into my Tuchel to Tuchel cable for the Cooper? Cooper’s manual seems to imply nothing else is needed, but you may be right Tourtelot. Has anyone ever done this? Thanks, B
noises1
Just fit 2 * 56k 1/8watt resistors into the back of the Tuchel 7-pin connector. Note the Tuchel pins used, & unsolder the wire from the pins, then solder each resistor inbetween the Tuchel pin & the wire. Use tubing to insulate bare connections as necessary

Thanks noises1, Glen Trew posted on FB that Andy Cooper did install resistors in later models (mine must be an early one) as you describe so this is probably my best way forward. Bilunt
Just updating this topic: According to Cooper Sound the Nagra volume pots should be fully clockwise to achieve -8dB when receiving 1k tone from the mixer. Cooper suggests switching the Nagra to HS (High Sensitivity) mode if extra headroom is required. This checks out on my machines.
