Hugh Holesome
Has anyone had to replace those tiny screws holding the element on the base? I was missing 1 now 2!! only 1 left holding it together. I already wrote Sanken via web contact...and tried local screw supplier in town. Please help! rich
have you looked closely in the base of the cub? as the screws unscrew from the base into the outer case to secure it rather than what you might traditionally expect
Hugh Holesome
Whether they are inny or outy 1 is for sure missing. The other is there but set in very far. None of the tiny screwdrivers in my kit even fit the small hole of this animal. My next stop is a wristwatch repairman.
Marc Wielage
At the risk of sounding like J1N, give the guys at Plus 24 a call (assuming you're in North America): Plus 24 1155 N. Marc Wielage
Sorry -- "Johnny 1-Note," as in "Call the manufacturer!" Running gag with The Senator. In this case, it can be tricky to figure out how to contact Sanken. --Marc W.
Izen Ears
I once lost one of these screws and then found it when I unscrewed the other ones - it was deep inside the shell! It was loose, but it had not fallen out. In fact as I recall those screws tighten outwards so loosening the screws just puts them inside the shell not outside where it could be lost. I might be wrong about that so don't quote me. Dan Izen

Marc Wielage
" it can be tricky to figure out how to contact Sanken. " Plus 24 I know that -- but none of the packing or literature on my CUBs even mentions Plus24, so I was sympathetic to MOASHugh's question. (But Sanken is easier to contact than Fostex!) --Marc W. Hugh Holesome
Thanks Marc, I am trading emails with P24 and will not hear from a tech until next week regarding getting a screw. A watch repairman got it open and verified the screw is MISSING and not inside (sad face). They had nothing to replace it with but offered to MAKE me one for $20. If this was more of a daily use mic I would have but TFN I can wait for P24's response. Thanks to all in the thread Hugh
