What headphones do you use?

Fair comment!   I do both, production sound and music recording.  Remote, on location, either way.  Not so much in studio.  As for headphones, nothing fancy in the field, I use Sony.  Away from the field, more fancy..  Focal.  Also ATC midfield monitors.

Yes

Sometimes I listen to something and it sounds like shit in the headphones. Example Yamaha DM-3. And you listen to the actual recorded material on a RME ADI-2 with Nice Beyerdynamics and it is ok.

SONOSAX sounds absolutely the best.

But…

This is why i have been all AES3 AES42 everything for a very long time. All the way to my MZD8000 died.

And to be honest mkh80X0 AES42 sounded a lot better than analog …

Rado, if your MZD8000 hadn’t died would you still be using those mics instead of Schoeps? Sounds like you were pretty happy with them?

I get bored. I swap mics a lot. Kind of like a music recording. 

In fact I have been using mkh50 on women a lot lately.
