curleysound
I've been dealing with a "Creative Executive" for the past 15 months, who seems to only be capable of causing problems for the crew. He is a top level guy, friends of the CEO... untouchable. The problem is that he never pokes his head out of his office until the morning he wants to shoot something. There is never so much as an email, and on the day, the details of the shoot trickle out as the crew is setting up, frequently causing the entire setup to change mid-stream. It's always elaborate, and as complicated as humanly possible. He drops these things into our daily schedule, and pushes all work already scheduled for later. The crew have repeatedly spoken to our boss, who basically says "Deal with it" and goes away. My question to all of you: Has anyone found a good way of getting these kinds of people to help us help them without the use of firearms? Eric Toline
You're dealing with an insecure person. His last minute rush jobs are caused by his inability to make a decision and his hand is forced by the clock ticking. Sadly you can't win this one for losing. mikewest
It's up to the first assistant to deal with this. The problem guy will burn his own boat when time is wasted or lost due to last minute requirements not being practical due to lack of actors or props etc, or when you do not make the day. But never cross swords with him! mike www.mikewestgatesound.co.nz
