osa Posted May 17, 2024 Report Posted May 17, 2024 Making some cables for a friend of mine out of town. Looking at the manual for a C 70 I don’t see the pin diagram. Does the mini XLR connector follow the pin numbers on the connector or does it follow the pin configuration of a standard XLR? Quote
Rick Reineke Posted May 17, 2024 Report Posted May 17, 2024 The pins are arranged differently on a TA (aka, mini) XLR.. though Pin 1= ground/shield, pin 2= hot and so on are usually the same. Quote
Johnny Karlsson Posted May 17, 2024 Report Posted May 17, 2024 As long as you connect pin 1 on the XLR to pin 1 on the TA3, pin 2 - 2, and 3 - 3 as marked on the connectors, you should be fine. (the debate on whether to connect pin 1 to the shell, or not, has been going on for decades hah!) Quote
osa Posted May 17, 2024 Author Report Posted May 17, 2024 Great thank you both my thoughts exactly. I see on the c70 you can read the pins numbered on the female side standard to these TA3 connectors where 2 n 3 positions are swapped vs full size XLR. But 1-1 / 2-2 / 3-3 makes perfect sense Quote
