Daniel Kuffel Posted June 19, 2024 Report Posted June 19, 2024 Hey everyone, I post more on the Facebook audio pages but wanted to show off the products I have been designing for audio equipment. I have designed cases for lockit boxes, tx, rxs, bumpers for slates, sunshades for the Sound Devices 6 and 8 series and battery caps for smart batteries. It's been a fun process learning how to create cases for our industry. Quote
inspire Posted June 19, 2024 Report Posted June 19, 2024 Very cool! I'll add a 3D printed ear that a student made for me. The idea was to experiment with something similar to the Neumann KU100, but I didn't get any further because I couldn't bring myself to damage this beautiful ear. Quote
drpro Posted June 19, 2024 Report Posted June 19, 2024 Those are some very nice products Daniel. Kudos to your work. I have limited 3d print skills, but have made a few useful items. Quote

fionally Posted July 2, 2024 Report Posted July 2, 2024 I designed and printed a little eurorack-synth-inspired rails system to clean up my (admittedly old school) bag. I also designed parts to assemble a boom pole out of premade carbon fiber tubing I got off Amazon, but I don't have pictures of that readily handy right now. Quote
inspire Posted January 16 Report Posted January 16 The Estonian company 3DKoda OÜ 3D-printed two MiniCMIT models for my project(s). They asked whether they should make them in the shape of a real microphone or just a regular cylinder, and I requested that if it wasn’t too much trouble, they should create a proper microphone model. It looks like the result is very interesting! I haven’t received it yet—it will be shipped to me—but it has already been printed along with two ears (left and right). One place where I will use it is inside a windscreen, where I will attach two DPA lavalier microphones. Quote
edward chick Posted January 17 Report Posted January 17 I can vouch for Daniel‘s products. His cases for shure ad1, lectro smv, and lectro r1a are solid and the fit is right on. Quote
inspire Posted January 19 Report Posted January 19 Here are the 3D-printed ears along with two MiniCMITs and the original! I believe it’s very difficult to distinguish the original if you’re not familiar with it... 😇 About the ears – the holes are precisely sized to fit two DPA lavalier microphones. If anyone is interested in getting the same setup or something similar, I believe 3D Koda can make it happen! Their contact: https://3dkoda.com/en/ P.S. I’m planning to order a parabolic mount for DPA lavalier microphones from them myself! Quote
