Daniel Bohm
Dear Group! We developed a special sound restoration method, where we optically clean the frame by frame scanned picture of the optical sound track and later we read it out as digital sound and clean it with AI and traditional tools. I am curious to hear your feedback about it. Is it salable as a service? What should we improve? Thank you for your help! inspire
I listened to it, thank you for the introduction! Restoration is a complex process, and we (I) don't know much about it. So you are using the iZotope program and are probably in close contact with them as well? It seems to me that this has a bright future. It is certainly a time-consuming process as well. I wish you success with this exciting endeavor!
Philip Perkins
I would love to hear their work on something more extreme, like 16mm optical, possibly damaged and worn. The shot they fixed here I would probably not want to use their system for--it doesn't sound that bad and their fix kid of sucks the air out of the sound. However much more problematic archival tracks, the sort of thing we encounter in doco post, might really benefit from this approach.
