I know that many here have extensive experience of Cinela windshields, but, nonetheless, one or two may find my testing of the two new models of the Pianissimo and Zephyx for the MS with the MKH 8030 and other MKH 8000 mics helpful, not least since I compare them to the Rycote MS Stereo Cyclone. Anyway, for anyone so interested, my write-up (with downloadable wav files) can be found here:

Pianissimo seems like a very good choice! I considered it myself for a long time, but due to the price, I went for a cheaper option.

I have a topic for discussion that somewhat ties into this thread. I hope the author won’t mind!

Rycote Windshield Kit MiniCMIT
and
2x DPA 6060-OC-U-B34 and DPA AIR1 Black S

What if I set up two DPA 6060-OC-U-B34 microphones inside the Rycote Windshield Kit MiniCMIT to achieve stereo recording?
I would have a custom suspension or holder made for them. Would this setup make sense if there’s an additional windscreen (DPA AIR1 Black S) inside the primary windshield?
Wind noise causes a lot of trouble otherwise! But I think this experiment might be worth trying, or what do others think?

That coastal recording honestly made me feel like I was right there by the sea, which is exactly the goal of recordings like this!

Roland: thanks for that write up. Incredibly helpful for someone (me) thinking about putting together a rig.

You'll be limited in your ability to adjust the width of your mics, but I'm assuming it would work just fine. I'd try the lavs naked inside the basket first; depending on your wind level you may not need an additional fur around the dpa capsule.
