gahspetti Posted December 3, 2024 Report Posted December 3, 2024 (edited) Hell0, [Please excuse the use 0f "0" instead 0f the regular 0 and c0mmas n0t peri0ds ~ my keyb0ard is kaputt and I have t0 get it repaired] I'm a relatively new user 0f Z00m F8n ~ I've attended "Y0utube university" as I like t0 call it ~ and read the manual and kn0w all the basic functi0ns and meanings but I still have a l0t t0 learn S0; when I started up my z00m rec0rder, everything went fine wt SD card ect, and I was sh0wing pretty n0rmal levels, then I went t0 testing my mics, but when I pressed the PFL butt0n, it did n0t w0rk at all, like the m0nit0r w0uld indicate that PFl was 0n, but I w0uld hear the same audi0 LeveLs fr0m b0th mics and n0t just is0lated, g00gle searches als0 have n0thing ab0ut this s0rt 0f glitch happening t0 any0ne else, and I checked the settings f0r PFl in menu were all set t0 n0rmal settings, b00m was l100 panned mic was R100 panned, s0 that's n0t the issue, I asked an0ther s0und guy and he was like huh weird but seems like it's still rec0rding g00d, and rec0rdings and what n0t all seem t0 have been n0rmal and clean when I w0uld d0uble check them after every sessi0n s0, has any0ne had any issue with this bef0re 0r is it just mercury retr0grade glitch, turn it 0n and 0ff again thing, 0r sh0uld I be seri0usly c0ncerned f0r the quality 0f my rec0rdings and f0ll0w up 0n it, this is f0r my new j0b s0 i really want t0 d0 a g00d j0b and all, Thank y0u, any help is greatly appreciated, regards, Edited December 3, 2024 by gahspetti used wr0ng v0cabuLary
Cvetko Posted December 6, 2024 Report Posted December 6, 2024 An obligatory question: are you monitoring trough headphones connected via the 6,3 mm Headphone jack? The Pre Fader/Solo buss is only routed there and not trough the AUX 1/2 3,5 mm jack. Is PFL selected instead of SOLO in the Main Menu > Input > PLF Mode section? Have you checked the rouitng matrixes to your headphones and other outputs?
