David A-Ribeiro Posted December 16, 2024 Report Posted December 16, 2024 Wondering if anyone has had a similar issue and looking for troubleshooting suggestions: I'm on day 15 of a feature shoot, and for a couple of days now, without apparent reason, I am only getting signal from one of two TXs at a time. Issue persists on different locations, range is not an issue (I've been managing with the Low setting even for 30/40m distances, Q at maximum), everything intermod-proofed, all TXs on the same band. Interference by IFB or other departments is discarded. All other RXs are clean and have full signal (Wisycom, A10s). I've tried different frequencies, nothing changes: pairing does not happen, just occasionally for a couple of seconds and then gone. I've restored all devices, running latest firmware, and already contacted SD, still waiting. Sounds familiar to anyone?
rich Posted December 16, 2024 Report Posted December 16, 2024 does the problem follow a transmitter, or a receiver? check that the modulation (LR or standard) hasnt somehow changed itself. assuming you have more than one channel of A20, swap the tuning assignment of the suspect channel and one that works. so instead of tx 1 being received by rx channel 1 and 2 to 2 (though ideally to an entirely separate receiver), swap the tuning of rx channel 1 and 2. that should help you point you wether the fault is with the transmitter or receiver. have you checked that the pin on the tx antenna hasnt pushed in, and the antenna isnt broken, as well as double check your antenna distro cables (assuming you are using one) are good. are you using the phone app to control the transmitters or a Nexus? the only time ive experienced anything similar was using A10 transmitters with the Nexus, but that was fixed some time ago.
Ben B Posted December 16, 2024 Report Posted December 16, 2024 I had one of 2 my A20 mini suddenly loose RF signal completely. Had to send it to SD to get a hardware fix. It's apparently something they know about and will fix under warranty (at least they did for me). A bit annoying because it takes time to fix the issue but when i got the unit back they worked perfectly again.
paul isaacs Posted December 16, 2024 Report Posted December 16, 2024 Hi David, Zach from our Tech Support team reached out to you this morning via email. They'll help you resolve this issue. Best Paul
David A-Ribeiro Posted December 16, 2024 Author Report Posted December 16, 2024 Thanks for all replies. I am in contact with SD, who are helping out with troubleshooting, we still haven't figured it out.

I had one of my A20 mini's that got an issue with the rf board and the flex that attaches the sma so i had intermittent Q and reception on a 1 year old A20 mini. Send back to SD and they changed it all and it works perfectly since then.
