cracking noise from a Sanken COS11D

One of my Sanken COS11D had some weird noise when it receives any sound wave, either from the speaker himself or from people around. When it's quiet, it's alright. I wonder if it the diaphragm problem or it's due to the accessory (a vampire clip). Any thoughts?

Listening casually, I would have assumed it was clothing noise.  On second listen, it sounds a bit more electronic ... like a short in a wire or a capacitor that has gone bad.  I'd be inclined to stop using it.  Not sure how repairable it would be ... I haven't had good luck with COS-11 repairs.

 

If you suspect the vampire clip or another accessory, you are in a much better position to test that than we are...  I can confirm what you hear, but to identify what's causing it, I'd need to play around with it some more.

This kind of noise clicks are easily removed in post using RX De-Clicker module (or similar) . I would not fuss about it.
