jimmycat Posted December 19, 2024 Report Posted December 19, 2024 One of my Sanken COS11D had some weird noise when it receives any sound wave, either from the speaker himself or from people around. When it's quiet, it's alright. I wonder if it the diaphragm problem or it's due to the accessory (a vampire clip). Any thoughts?
The Documentary Sound Guy Posted December 19, 2024 Report Posted December 19, 2024 Listening casually, I would have assumed it was clothing noise. On second listen, it sounds a bit more electronic ... like a short in a wire or a capacitor that has gone bad. I'd be inclined to stop using it. Not sure how repairable it would be ... I haven't had good luck with COS-11 repairs. If you suspect the vampire clip or another accessory, you are in a much better position to test that than we are... I can confirm what you hear, but to identify what's causing it, I'd need to play around with it some more.
resonate Posted Monday at 09:22 PM Report Posted Monday at 09:22 PM This kind of noise clicks are easily removed in post using RX De-Clicker module (or similar) . I would not fuss about it.
