Hello all!

Does anyone have any recent experience with customs at Incheon Airport in Seoul, South Korea?

In ten days, I'm transiting through Seoul for five days on a solo holiday before I fly to a job in Mongolia.

I have an ATA carnet for Mongolia, but I'm unsure of what I might experience customs-wise at Incheon.

I'll have one case of gear and a couple of personal bags.

Thanks in advance!

I was there a couple of months ago for a gig. No issues with customs- but we had a local fixer and Carnets. It's a crap shoot to go in under the wire. They were pretty by-the-book.

Thanks, Tom!

As of yesterday, the rest of our crew, who are leaving the US a week later, are bringing my gear with them, using my carnet, with them listed as additional holders.

Hopefully, it'll all go well... fingers crossed!

It's super easy to get in if your carnet and paperwork are all in order. I've never had an issue and I carnet into the country without really having work booked. Any credential you can provide on your line of work helps tremendously. All this can be gutted, though, if you get someone that woke on the wrong side of the bed...but that's the case in any country really.

Thanks!

I'm not flying on that airline, but it may be a harbinger of things to come.

The article is terribly written... I think what it should say is that "power banks" are not allowed in overhead bins.

I'm also not sure if that includes all rechargeable Lithium containing batteries. That could be interesting...
