Hi all,

I’ve been looking into adding some custom molded in-ears to my kit for a few different reasons, but mainly so I have better isolation and can monitor at lower levels in loud environments. I’ve been testing out pairs from Alclair and Ultimate Ears as they both have places in Nashville where I can take in my mixer and compare models. I’ve been leaning towards the flat response versions of both, the UE RR+ Pro and the Alclair Studio4 Quad Driver. I would love to hear if anyone has experience on set with either or if anyone has other recommendations for custom in-ears with flat response (the universal fit cones always irritate my ears after an hour or two).

If anyone has an argument against flat response I would be open to hearing it, tried out the UE live yesterday and they sound great for music, but they are tuned with reduced mids and I don’t think that would be the best for hearing how mics actually sound on set.
