foliver Posted August 29 Report Posted August 29 Good evening, I wanted to know if Pete Verrando is still doing the conversions. Since we've written to him and he hasn't responded, could you send me his email in case I'm mistaken? Thank you very much for the help. Quote
JonG Posted August 30 Report Posted August 30 I can’t find the thread, but basically Pete is no longer doing conversions. However, Bill Thompson will do them if you ask nicely and if he has the time. I’ve had both Pete and Bill convert mine and they all work great. https://billthompson.us/bt/schoeps-mic-conversion/ Quote
Philip Perkins Posted August 30 Report Posted August 30 Pete told me he was retiring (from both production sound and mic conversions) several years ago now. He helped me a lot, I wish him well. Bill T said he'd do Schoeps T>p48 conversions when he had time, and even try to do repairs on Pete's conversions. However, the last time I communicated with him he said that he does not do Sennheiser T>p48 conversions like Pete did. Too bad, my Pete 416 conversion has been a very handy thing to have. Quote
pscottm Posted September 2 Report Posted September 2 I had a CMC4 converted by Bill Thomson last month and am very happy w the result. Quote
resonate Posted September 3 Report Posted September 3 Is there anyone in Europe that does this? I have an old CMC4 that would gladly be converted. Quote

pverrando Posted November 9 Report Posted November 9 Hi Phillip, just to clarify i'm no longer doing conversions but I have not retired from location sound in Dallas. I mainly do commercials, and a lot of bag work as I enjoy chasing around the youngsters. I've got txsound.com stickers to help clutter up camera carts and pelican cases. And branded mugs that mysteriously appear in the coffee break rooms of stages & production spaces around D/FW. In the early 90's we had about eight working mixers in D/FW. Today we have 75 who claim as much, but the "working" descriptor is much less defined. God bless them all. Quote
