Blackdawg Posted August 30, 2025 Report Posted August 30, 2025 Not sure if this exists here or not but I think if we could make it happen it should be a sticky somewhere. Almost all cameras have a processing delay for when they see info and goes through the sensor to be written onto a data card/storage. For some reason, this is not something documented in any cameras manual from what I can tell. Which I think it should and could be(at least closer than how it is now). Do folks know off hand what offests that cameras need? Please share if you do! So far I've been using Lockits and noticing that FX6 and FR7 sony cameras have about a 1.5-2frame delay at 4k. V Raptor has about 3-4.5 frame delay at 6k. Anyone have any others? Or are you not worrying about that? To me even 2 frames is quite a bit. Quote
Derek H Posted August 31, 2025 Report Posted August 31, 2025 It would be good to be aware of this but I don’t really see what we could do about it on set. Seems like an assistant editor problem to me. Quote
Bouke Posted August 31, 2025 Report Posted August 31, 2025 QTchange will do a batch offset if needed, on quite a bit more file formats than QuickTime (.mov) alone. It's destructive, meaning you don't have to copy the whole shebang. But it still has some magic to have an 'undo' afterwards, no matter if the files have been renamed / moved. And, it has some interesting other features one might need. The demo is free. <shameless_Self_Promotion>Link to QTchange page</shameless_Self_Promotion> Quote

What do people do if there isn't one. 4 hours ago, Bouke said: QTchange will do a batch offset if needed, on quite a bit more file formats than QuickTime (.mov) alone.
