788t headphone jack mod for HMD26?

Is it possible for a 788t+CL8(w/o CL9) to be modified for use of the microphone of Sennheiser HMD-26pro as the slate mic? Thanks.

Unsure I understand your question correctly.

The dynamic mic on the headset should work on input 8 on mic without phantom as a slate/com mic. There is a menu entry to configure it as slate/com.

IIRC, there is a mod where you make one of the returns a mic channel dedicated to slate, but this is more than 10 years ago so it could as we’ll have been a dream at this point.

This mod is real..I had the idea by looking inside the 788t.. The Mic sounded so bad because it's about an inch inside the unit and was right next to the hard drive.. The mod removes the small mic inside.. You then reroute this to the 3.5mm headphone jack.. This gives you an extra Mic input that provides 5v to power a small mic.. It worked and still works great, gave me full use of all 8 channels.. Sadly, the shop that did the mod has closed but If you are wanting to mod your 788 I can contact the guy that did it and see if he's interested in a one off mod..
