LDstudios Posted October 22 Report Posted October 22 Hey all, I have a MixPre 6 that only ever gets used for field/SFX recording, and am chasing a lightweight, snug/small bag to protect it while it gets bounced in and out of a backpack. Does anyone have any out-of-left-field suggestions? The usual K-tek/Orca/Petrol/Etc solutions all look great, but are totally overkill (and overpriced) for the purpose. Quote
Axel Mishael Posted October 23 Report Posted October 23 Perhaps a portabrace as an option then... Quote
acdave Posted October 23 Report Posted October 23 I bought one of these about five years ago for a MixPre 3. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00XHPIU2K?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 For less than twenty bucks, it might be worth a look at... or one of its ilk. Quote
inspire Posted October 23 Report Posted October 23 I have Orca OR-270, it's good. But more I love use my MixPre 6 with small K&M stand so the bag is actually not in use.. Two stands is better for me - one for mic('s) and second for MixPre 6. So in my case any bag is good enough which fit my MixPre and in the field I put MixPre into the stand (without bag). Quote

It's great if you only need 1 or 2 small RXs, but anything more and it really struggles. I do love it for sports work, where all I need is the mixer, boom, and a hop. Its incredibly light and super low-profile. Quote
