788T music recording question.

Sorry in advance if this feels like a basic question.  Long time member here.  There are times when I record bands or music artists on one of my SD 788T's and hand the files to Post for mixing.  

I would like to use my iMac to simply  play back the 8 tracks and run them through my analog mixer and sweet analog outboard compressors/EQ's, Lexicon reverbs, tube EQ's etc and do my own

"outside the box" mixes.  I know that the 788T can be configured to output 6 tracks for Playback (1-4 TA3, then 2 more on the Headphone Out) but 8 outs is the goal.

Please let me know which Software will allow me to Output 8 individual Poly Files and which Interface would give me 8 balanced line level outputs.  Maybe I am a dinosaur but high quality analog 

gear just has that sound I love.  And have here at home.

Any audio interface with eight outputs would allow this. I use a UAD Apollo and Pro-Tools and have that capability.

Just re-read my post and of course the 788T can give 8 individual outs.  The 5/6 mini jack and then select the Headphone out to be 7/8.

The SD664 would be more in need of a way to play back all the ISO tracks.  Time for another coffee.

But those will not be balanced.

You can use my Recorder as a Playback device as well, giving you all tracks ISO on a balanced outputs, if you have 'any' decent hardware.
For that, we recently had discussions. There are plenty of options, but bus powered is probably difficult. (Not sure if that's also the case for playback only, seems that more than 4 phantom powered channels is too much...)

Unbalanced line level should be fine for short cable runs..  even at mic level.  For instance, most lavaliere type mics are unbalanced going  a power supply/XLR adapter or a transmitter.
