osa Posted July 8 Report Posted July 8 Is it possible with an aaf export to send only a specific segment of a premiere timeline? A friend of mine who is an Editor, tried it, but it sent the whole project to export instead of just the In-N-Out points. Quote
The Immoral Mr Teas Posted Wednesday at 08:26 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 08:26 PM I can't answer this conclusively as I don't use Premiere (and it may be way too late anyway a week on) - The fact your editor friend tried it makes it seem it can be done and perhaps a box was left checked or unchecked (export whole project or just between in/out type of thing) so the export settings got overridden. Pressing GO before re-checking the settings - especially when doing something different to what the software is set to do on a daily basis - is generally the cause of AAFs, OMFs and exports etc generally going wrong. I'd check settings (copy media, consolidate, selected tracks etc...) set the tracks and I/O again then recheck everything and have another go. If that failed a possible 'cheat' would be to duplicate the wanted area only to new tracks and just export those tracks. That's similar to what I'd often do for (simple) updates to both stay on top of changes and have a ready record (subsequently disabled but not deleted) of alts/changes I may have provided. Jez Quote
Bouke Posted Wednesday at 09:00 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 09:00 PM It's always possible. I'm not a seasoned Premiere editor, but I do know you can subclip a (part of) sequence, thus you can export that. And of course, all can be done with a few macro's or alike. There are a gazillion fora for Premiere, this is the worst place to ask I would think. (AFAIK, I'm the only picture editor here.) Quote
