Anyone in Portland, OR? How’s the scene there?

I’ve been out of the industry for a few years for personal reasons, but lately I’ve been really missing time on set and strongly considering coming back to work. There’s a high chance I’ll be moving to Portland soon and I’m just wondering how the industry is doing around there. Like, pdx/vancouver/salem etc. Is there enough work to support new blood in town? Are production folk there chill and welcoming or insular and guarded? I know the whole industry is hurting lately so I’m not trying to barge in and take work away from established locals. Just want to see what my options are when I move there.

Work has been scarce for me the past year, but has been picking up gradually in the back half of 2026. Folks are friendly, drop us a line when you're in town and we can do a meet and greet. We regularly swap gear and gigs with each other here.
