drpro Posted August 25 Report Posted August 25 Dolly passed away today leaving a huge space in the world that probably won't ever be filled. She gave generously of her time, resources and talent. Working in Nashville, I have stories as other persons in the business have. One of mine is below. I was handling audio for a series of commericals for Dollywood years ago. We were shooting film and I was using Nagras. The last scene of the day required a wireless mic. I handed off the transmitter and lav to her people. She was getting dressed and madeup somewhere else in the park. She showed up a bit later sitting in the middle seat of a minivan. Because we were only getting one or two takes with her I walked over to the van to check on the position of the lav. O asked her about the placement of the lav and with a smile on her face, grabbed to the top of her gingham dress, leaned forward and sail to me, "is this ok". All I could say was something like it's perfect. She then goes and nails the scene in one take and we are wrapped. One amazing lady. She will be missed. The world has lost one of the greats.
