Jeff Wexler
Hybrid tech site and store MIC Gadget this week quietly unwrapped an adapter to give iPad and iPad 2 owners much-requested card format support. The CF Card Reader for iPad lets photographers with higher-end DSLRs and some older compact cameras load photos and videos directly to either of iPad. Format support on Apple's tablet is currently the limiting factor and currently excludes RAW photos as well as some video formats, primarily those that exceed Apple's official 720p, 30FPS video limit. The reader does take modern UDMA-capable cards, although it will be capped at the USB 2.0 port's speeds. A regular-sized USB port is built-in and will take any device that uses 20mA of power or less.iPad owners can buy the CF Card Reader immediately for $30. Solid Goldberger
Good to see that this is doable. I'm assuming you can't do both USB and CF access at the same time? As soon as someone makes an adapter to connect a SD/CF/SXS/P2/Etc. card AND a FW/USB Hard Drive for data transfers on the road, they're gonna sell a TON of iPads to production people. e. justanross
I may have a dumb question because I don't own an Ipad. Could you put your audio files onto it with this adaptor?
Solid Goldberger
I'm pretty sure you could transfer whatever you wanted, by hook or crook, though the apps themselves probably would not be able to play back .wav files of more then 2 tracks. e. No that's cool. As long as I could use is as another back up that would be awesome.
