edward chick
Just curious, has anyone ever worn a life jacket while rigged up for ENG? I have an offshore job coming up next month, I've been on boats before and never worn one, always thought I could ditch the rig quickly enough but, you never know... Would a self inflating type be a good choice? Just curious as to what other mixers have encountered or used. Any certain weight factors involved in selecting a vest for these purposes? Thanks, ed
Audio Daddyo
Check out the home page of my website. My memory it fits very comfortably under my harness. http://audiodaddyo.com/ Andy
Bob Marts
If there's any chance of going over while wearing a sound bag & harness, I would recommend using quick release seat belt type connectors between the bag and the harness. edward chick
Andy, Your rig is exactly how I figured I would wear mine. I have a lifejacket of my own and tried it out with the rig on. The extra padding from the vest is actually kind of nice. Thanks, ed

mikewest
The PFD sounds like the go for me as it's low profile. But I must admit after having worked for the Cousteau family for more than 20 years, And having spent 2 years on boats (and a non swimmer) I never wore a flotation device! mike
Jon Gilbert
I'm stating the obvious, but sometimes it needs stating..... NEVER put your sound rig over a auto or manual inflation life jacket, that won't work out too well! PFDs only should be worn under our kit.
