JP Evans
Hi folks, Just curious how aware other mixers/boomers are about their own bones creaking during takes? I find there are times I have to be really careful about the sound my own arms make. I'm not talking about sloppy low end rumble from poor handling, rather, it's a mid-frequency creak transferred through the pole during normal operation. I'm a skinny feller, I have to wonder if my lack of an insulative layer is making me work harder for clean tracks. pvanstry
Well, in bethween Bones creaking, spicy cuisine side effects, my own clothes noise end stomach growls on long shoots, i usually am find.... Of course i deal with coughing by using an unusual amount of throat lozange.... But seriously, if i feel i will be cracking or something i time myself either during a question or a loud moment... larry long
I've heard my boom ops shoulder creaking during quiet scenes using a mkh50. LL
Philip Perkins
Usually it's my knees creaking, quietly, and me gasping in pain, not so quietly. Philip Perkins
Sound Intuition
I too have heard my boom ops wrist crack using a MKH 50. This reminds me of the scene from "Living in Oblivion" where the boom op has the giant clock around his neck.
