Maybe the guy thinks the pretty knobs and few faders means this is a Mattel knock off of a Behringer mixer... But ya, I understand your hesitation. I'm not in San Diego, alas. Good luck. I did a little research and dug up some information about the board's shortcomings... steep steps in the gain adjust switch, no direct outputs, noisy performance due to 12V rails, etc... After realizing that it was next to free, I also saw myself spending too much time and money bringing it up to a more satisfactory performance level.
