pvanstry
Hi guys, I am trying to find a way to add a shelf on a C stand. Basically I want to have the shelf mounted on the main post ( not on the end of it ). Anybody knows of a product or place that does that? soundslikejustin
Hi guys, I am trying to find a way to add a shelf on a C stand. Basically I want to have the shelf mounted on the main post ( not on the end of it ). Anybody knows of a product or place that does that? Depending on the weight it has to hold, you could just use a magic arm (or similar - a Ram-mount arm, grip arm etc.) and clamp it on. Then it would be adjustable, and removable. John Moore
Would this work for you? Delvcam UTT-1 Universal Tripod Tray 16.75 x 16.75 at Markertek.com It has a 1/4-20 threaded mount, but you could use an adapter on the c-stand.
Tom Visser
Matthew James make a couple of different field monitor mounts that should work.
Tom Visser
Brain fart, not Matthew James, just Matthews.
pvanstry
Yep I know about the Matthews baby plate. Thanks guys for the help but there is a little detail that escaped attention. I need to shelf to be on the main post of the stand not on the end of the post. Reason is that I need to raise the stand pos to it's maximum to use it as an antenna mast. So basically I need a shelf that hangs on the side of the main post. Thanks
Jim Gilchrist
Hey, Pascal, How about a sidearm? With that and a pigeon plate with a baby receiver you could mount stuff to a c stand riser. Matthews and Bogen both make 'em. I'm sure other grip gear manufacturers make them as well. Best regards, Jim
Jim Feeley
If the sidearm idea doesn't work for you, maybe a tool tray like those made for bicycle repair stands? There are a few trays here: http://www.parktool.com/category/repair-stand-accessories I can't recall offhand the diameter of typical bike repair stand uprights, but it's greater than a c-stand. But perhaps with a collar... Oh, a google image search brings up a couple promising pages: http://www.msegrip.com/metropolisshelfbracket.html http://www.msegrip.com/matthelliniinsideshelf.html
