Hi,

I just bought a Fostex PD2 off E-Bay. I want to use it as a backup, secondary, or however it becomes handy. Either way it was a steal, at 5% of it's original retail. I know it's a dinosaur, but this one (If you believe the seller) was owned by a studio musician (sellers dad) who bought it new, used it for a couple years, got pro-tools and put it in the closet. It powers up fine, heads look clean, but I want to have someone who has diagnostic equipment take a look at it. LSC won't touch it, so I'm wondering if there are any indie DAT guys in LA that might be able to check the head alignment, tensioners, grease the gears, etc.

Thanks,

Tom

Tom there used to be a guy on the corner of Saticoy and Magnolia I think. He used to service my D10Pro but I don't have the particulars anymore. If he's still around, that's where he'll be. If I remember his name or anything else I'll post it.

Regards

Mick

Mick,

Considering that Saticoy and Magnolia both run east-west, I don't think they intersect at a corner!

Thanks all for the suggestions. The first response I have gotten back is from Eric at Digitronics, who says that they can do cleaning and realignment. Anyone have any experience there?

Thanks,

Tom
