Richard Topham Jr Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 This past month we were extremely pleased to have Glenn Sanders, President of Zaxcom, introduce the new Nomad to us at my latest workshop. Enjoy....Thanks, Rich Quote
soundslikejustin Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 Awesome! Something to watch after wrap tonight. Will/does Pro-Sound have a demo unit in the shop? I'll be in town mid-December... Quote
Eric Toline Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 This past month we were extremely pleased to have Glenn Sanders, President of Zaxcom, introduce the new Nomad to us at my latest workshop. Enjoy....Thanks, Rich Am I the only one who's surprised that the presentation was recorded with only camera mic audio? Eric Awesome! Something to watch after wrap tonight. Angelo Waldron Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 Nobody gives a crap about audio until it sounds like crap. I made it to the 3 minute mark. Quote
justanross Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 Am I the only one who's surprised that the presentation was recorded with only camera mic audio? Eric I know Eric it always blows my mind when it happens on here. At NAB this year Trew Audio's video's sounded Terrible. Quote
MT Groove Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 Am I the only one who's surprised that the presentation was recorded with only camera mic audio? Eric I watched it last night and was going to post the same thing but decided to be nice. Glad you said it first!! Quote
Tom Visser Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 Maybe they couldn't find a shotgun mic on a boom with a foam windshield laying around... Quote
Eric Toline Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 Maybe they couldn't find a shotgun mic on a boom with a foam windshield laying around... Yeah Tom, that's it and they didn't have anyone there who knew how to use it. How complicated would it have been to stick a wireless on Glenn and plug the rx into the camera? Eric Quote
VM Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 You're not alone Eric...I am surprised too. Quote
Eric Toline Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 I watched it last night and was going to post the same thing but decided to be nice. Glad you said it first!! While being nice is good most times, it does not bring about awareness or change. Especially in this situation. Eric Quote
justanross Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 Maybe they couldn't find a shotgun mic on a boom with a foam windshield laying around... Hahahahaha that was awesome High five Quote
soundtrane Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 if the making of the video is itself an afterthought, sound gets left even further behind. Maybe they couldn't find a shotgun mic on a boom with a foam windshield laying around... it's about 8 inches from the Nomad... heh... Quote
berniebeaudry Posted October 12, 2011 Report Posted October 12, 2011 Where's the close up? I wanted to see the Nomad. Quote
MatthewFreedAudio Posted October 12, 2011 Report Posted October 12, 2011 I watched a video that Coffey did a while back where the boom was clearly panned to channel one and the lav was on channel two. The final "mix" left the two channels split rather than picking one or the other or blending them in any way. I kind of chuckled, shook my head, and continued watching. Quote
Klay Posted October 12, 2011 Report Posted October 12, 2011 Amateur Sound. Turned it off. I think you owe Glenn an apology. Quote
Richard Topham Jr Posted October 12, 2011 Author Report Posted October 12, 2011 I apologize for the sound everyone. It was an afterthought. I had an intern take care of it and he used an MKH70 on top....Next time, don't worry, I will personally handle the sound! Quote
studiomprd Posted October 12, 2011 Report Posted October 12, 2011 " It was an afterthought. " unfortunately this is how way to many so-called producers and directors are thinking, too... " used an MKH70 on top.... " ditto! Quote
Boomboom Posted October 15, 2011 Report Posted October 15, 2011 Hhmm.. that MKH70 wasn't plugged. Quote
