Christian Spaeth
Well.... maybe but when MS monitoring will be implementing on Nomad... Glenn, is there any Nomad manual ? It's a little bit stressfull without. as Glenn pointed out here, it is possible to monitor/decode M/S now. Basically make your own matrix via the card routing. http://www.zaxcom.com/forum/showthread.php?16360-A-few-general-Nomad-questions/page2

paul55
Just got the Nomad. I can not get a TC output from my Nomad 8 track. It will take a input. Is there a on/off for the time code?

Is there a on/off for the time code? In the TC sub menu there is a setting for TC out - you can choose generator out or card out. It may be set to card out. soundslikejustin
In card out, the TC only outputs when you go into record - if you don't want to change from card out, put the unit into record and see if you can get TC out then. To jam slates or lockits, it's easier to be in Gen out, which outputs TC continuously. To update the software, there are installation instructions inside the .zip file of the software download. Pretty simple.
Jack Norflus
How do I load the latest software? Copy the .BIN file onto a CF card place the card in the mirror slot - power up Nomad while holding the star key. After it is done it is advisable to go into the memory menu and do a recall to factory default. That's it.
paul55
In continuous Gen out and still nothing. I tried to download 2.68 from the website but in now says 2.55 is running. ? paul55
Of course it is the unit I'm trying to send TC to! Thank you so much for your time and information.

Jack Norflus
Can someone point me to the correct 4-pin hirose power connector? Hirose HR10A7P4P There are other vendors but here is a link to one: http://www.markertek.com/Connectors-Adapters/Video-Connectors/7-PIN-EIAJ-Camera-Connectors/Hirose-Electric-USA-Inc/HR10A-7P-4P-73.xhtml?HR10A7P4P
Derek H
This is actually the Hirose 4-pin I would buy: http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?vendor=0&keywords=hr10-7p-4p Has a much better strain relief system and assembles faster. This is the one Sound Devices uses for their cables. Though the one Jason and Jack linked to is fine too as long as you put it together well and get a good clamp down. The above is more expensive but only by a couple bucks.
Derek H
On a side note, I wish Zaxcom used the Hirose for all their wireless products as well. The locking DC plug is alright but I'd rather just have one type all around.
Mark Orusa
I will record doubleMS (3 mics) and IRT cross (4 mics). I would like to control the level of all the mics with only one fader. Is it possible ? With only 6 mic pres on the Nomad, no. Mark O.
studiomprd
" I would like to control the level of all the mics with only one fader." we call that fader "the master"
Jack Norflus
With only 6 mic pres on the Nomad, no. Mark O. Did the OP refer to using all 7 mic's at the same time? Or an either or situation?
VM
My question was with 3 or 4 mics, and in fact 5 mics (DMS, IRT or MMAD recording). Sorry, my question wasn't clear enough. We did it today : it's easy (with "fader enable menu") to assign the inputs to a Master fader. I saw an old post about different levels on each track even when linking, and with the same trim level. I have tested it and we haven't noticed any problem: the gain was similar on each tracks.

Max Dumesnil
Yes in apple's disk utility, i'm doing more testing but it froze the machine at first. Formated in the computer, then formatted primary in nomad, power cycle and the machine is frozen Finally got it to work, but it froze my nomad 2-3 times, never had this issues with my old cards
Jack Norflus
400X may be the issue with Nomad. Zaxcom recommends 133. I use Transcend 32gb 133X with no problems.
