Marc Wielage
I checked and could not find the serial port pinout in the manual (though it's mentioned on page 57). This would mean a call to Zaxcom tech support.

Michael
If you get the answer could you post it here? I was looking at buildIng something similar a while ago but you know how it goes, something else is just that bit more important.

fatfatjames
OK time to share, from Howard: "Connect a toggle switch between pin 4 (GPI-IN) and pin 5 (GND) and adjust your perferred polarity in the SETUP::OPERATING_MODE page. (and turn GPI1 remote Roll ON too)."

Whit Norris
I am using the CL-1 from Sound Devices. I roll the SD as my backup. The CL-1 rolls the Deva and my 744T. It will not roll the Deva with out the Sound Devices connected. So I just built the cable. Sorry not much help on building the remote. greg sextro
James, Do you solder? if i've read all this correctly, all you really need is a simple toggle switch (either normally open or closed) and wire it inline of the 2 leads from the fusion. You'll need a 9 pin connector for the fusion. don't know if they have radio shacks (or hopefully a better equivalent) in Singapore, but you can house the toggle switch in a small "project box" and place the switch where you want it on your cart. Todd Weaver
I'm about to undertake the design of a unit that will roll zaxcom, fostex, sound devices, boom recorder, and movie slate with one switch. Should be very cool. I'll post as to the progress.

Eric Toline
Speaking of remotes, here's one I designed & built for the Fostex D15 & D25 studio DAT machines. Probably a bit of overkill for today. P.S. it's for sale if anyone needs/wants it.
