  1. Hello everyone! One of the great uses for MixPre 6 that I see is a very portable Ambisonics recorder for ambiences and other SFX. The golden rule of SFX recording is to sort them and supply with SoundMiner metadata as early as you can because otherwise you'll hardly ever find the recordings (hello my over 50 GBs from university times). So, is it technically possible to make a version of Wingman app that would have metadata fields (I'll name them the way as SM does) such as Description, BWFDescription, Comments and maybe some other SM fields? It can be much more handy to fill these in while you're recording or right after it. For a long time I though that the field Description is proprietary to SM but suddenly I learned that Reaper's Media Explorer sees that field and calls it Comments and also Search (by prosoundeffects) uses it as its own Description field. I'm a Russian and we tend to use Cyrillic in Description field and English in BWFDescription and when I saw a field in Russian (or that can't be read by Search) I was positive it was the SM Description. So, can Wingman be upgraded to sort SFX for libraries on the go and how many people besides me would be into it? Since SD offers a lot of "without a laptop" features like remix, then why not? Oh, and also, I'd definitely appreciate support of Cyrillic in Description section
  2. Hi guys is it some how possible to connect a keyboard (controlling the 633) and the wingman app/dongle to the cl 12? I tried to connect a usb hub or a keyboard with integrated hub to the cl12 - doesn't work. At the moment i see no complete integration of the wingman app for example to control the whole unit or at least a virtual keyboard appearing when needed. Actually i dont see why it is not possible to playback a track in the tracklist section. Rec and stop is functioning...! I am constantly forced to jump from one interface to an other. In my opinion the app is not complete. Would be nice if they'ld dig deeper. What do you think? Cheers, Nicolas
  3. Hey Everyone, I'm new to using "Wingman" with my Sound Devices 664, and I'm experiencing some problems that even Sound Devices can't figure out, So I thought to turn to you and see if any of you have experienced some of these problems, and or, been able to fix them. I'm running version 4.01 on my 664 and loaded the Wingman app on my ipad mini and my iphone. With an approved Sandisc SD and CF cards in the machine, and the app up and running, I can put the 664 into record, but the app disconnects after about 2 sec. and the 664 will still be running in record. I have to manually stop the recorder. I can't re-start the app with out completely re-booting the app. I did a hard erase on both cards on my Mac, then re-formatted the cards in the 664...the same problem. Now it will work fine with just the SD card in the machine, but it won't work with the CF card only or the SD and CF card in together. I tried a different CF car all together, and the same problem. Before I send the whole system back to Sound Devices, I'd like to know if any of you have had the same problem, and if any of you have come up with a solution. Thanks!
