Medallion62 Posted February 6, 2014 Report Posted February 6, 2014 There's a chance I might be moving to Vancouver, B.C. this year. I'm looking to get an apprenticeship in location audio. I've worked on a number of small indie shorts on this side of the pond where I was basically a one man sound department, so I'm quite the newbie. Any advice from folks working in the industry in Vancouver? I'd like to get some experience in a larger production to get an idea how everything works. Does the sound department take on people to help out during the shoot? Quote
Sandor Gyurkovics Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 Check out the local IATSE website, find the list of mixers and call them. Go down to set and get to know them. That's what I did. Friendly bunch. Sandor, Sound Guy (664/411a's/SRb/MKH60) Quote
deanmc Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 I am actually looking for a sound assist in Vancouver at this moment for a docu-reality series we are producing. Entry level, but a paid position. We have already started production, and it will last for approx 6-8 months. PM me if you like Dean Quote
