  1. Ok, cheers Chris. I read some other threads on the cine tape. Sounds like a common problem. Only solution being to turn it off or down. Seems crazy they designed a product with no regard for sound at all!
  2. So I finished the shoot. The camera was pretty noisy. It seemed to have different levels of noise with different rolls. So on some takes it was ok (though still pretty loud) and on others it sounded like a sewing machine. I assume this is to do with how the roll has been loaded and how the camera has been adjusted? They also didn't bring a barney (despite me asking for one lots of times) so I had to make do with covering it in a thick jacket. I also had a problem with the cine tape measure the AC was using. When the mics were close I could hear a clicking sound. Has anyone else experienced this? They also picked a couple of locations near roads. Pretty frustrating all in all! I got a sample of the camera noise if anyone is interested I can upload it?
  3. Great! thanks Jim. I'll make sure I get a sample of the camera noise and get wildtracks where possible
  4. Hi all, I have a shoot coming up with the arricam lite 35mm. Is there anything I should watch out for? Is it very noisey? (I've asked that they make sure it has a barney. ) Any help and tips are greatly appreciated, Cheers, Pete
  5. Thanks for the replies Rob and Alan! I also thought it might be some kind of gain structure issue but what you said Alan has me worried as it sounds very similar to my problem. I'll mention the gain structure suggestion to sound devices and see what they come back with. Thanks again for you help.
  6. Hi Senator, Thanks for the quick response. I contacted them a few days ago and they're not sure whats happened. I sent them a bit of other info and hopefully they'll get back to me again soon. I just wanted to check on this forum in case I was missing something obvious or if anyone else had had a similar problem.
  7. I recently bought a sound devices 633 and I was recording football with two MH60s for FX (inputs 1 and 2) and (R channel) and commentator (L channel) (input 3). The input trims (course gain) on inputs 1 and 2 (MH60 FX mics) were at around 11 o'clock and the faders were at around 10 o'clock and the FX were peaking at around -10 dBU. A goal was then score and there was a cheer. The limiters were set at their default 16 dBU but the sound seemed seemed to be getting limited at around 10 dBU for some reason and then there were two short busts where the peaks jumped up to the 16dBU level. This happened on three occasions during the match. Has anyone else experienced this before? Or do they know what I am doing wrong? I've attached a sample of the sound. Sadly I didn't think to save the setup file. Any help is greatly appreciated, all the best, Pete Crowd_LimiterIssues_.mp3
  8. Did a test today and it seemed to work perfectly. What I did was: made sure lockit and 744t were set to the right frame rate, set 744t to free run -> got timecode into lockit (ACL 202) with 5 pin lemo-to 5 pin lemo -> removed from 744t and plugged into scarlet pro i/o module -> in scarlet menu went: settings -> project ->timecode ->external rear module and that seemed to work. Hopefully this was all right? Thanks for all the advice and the useful posts.
  9. I'll make sure I set the scarlet to EXT TC in the menu though. Cheers for the tip.
  10. Great, thanks pkautzsch for the quick response. I shouldn't have used the word 'jam' as thats not what I meant. I know you have to leave the lockit connected to the camera I was just wondering how you connect the lockit to the scarlet when using the pro i/o module? 5-pin lemo to 5-pin lemo? or BNC to 5-pin lemo?
  11. I realise this thread is a bit old now but I have a shoot coming up with a red scarlet with the pro i/o module and I have a ACL 202 lockit box and I had a question that could do with some of your expert knowledge. Am I right in thinking I jam the lockit from the 744t (5-pin lemo to 5 pin lemo cable) and then jam the scarlet from the lockit - for this do I need a BNC to 5-pin lemo or can this be done just with the 5-pin lemo to 5 pin lemo cable if I have the pro i/o module? Any advice is greatly appreciated, Pete
