Hi All, I'm a location sound mixer based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I currently work on a Zaxcom Nova mixer with two MRX-414 wireless modules for a total of 8 channels of wireless audio in a compact and lightweight mixer. I use Schoeps and Sennheiser interior / exterior boom mics... also sennheiser MKE2 lavs. I love working on short films and feature films. We have a timecode based workflow for upto six synced cameras. Also a Denecke digital slate and Comtek audio distribution on set. We also work in ProTools and have Isotope RX 10 Advanced plus Dolby Atmos surround sound renderer. We love fixing audio issues for the local film community... which we often do to help out…

Hi all, I have mainly been a producer on videos for NGOs and a grant writer. I am trying to transition to location sound recording because I have a degenerative vision issue and it's difficult to use screens. Obviously, there are still screens in sound recording, but comparatively much less time spent on them on location etc. I'm in Brooklyn, NY, and over the past few years started working on some TV (Art21) and a couple docs. I really want to learn in-person and would love to connect with folks here in the NYC area. If you need a boom op on a gig or some other type of assistant, hit me up! Or if you have a low budget gig that you need to pass on,…

Hello all, my name is Ryan Angel and I am the producer for a low budget short film happening in early April. Our sound mixer is unavailable for the two days and I thought this would be a great opportunity to expand my network and diversify my crew. We need a sound mixer with their own equipment who wants to come play over a weekend. We can offer $500 for the two days (almost all positions - including producers/director - are making the same amount). It will be shot much like Staged with two actors chatting over zoom. We will be filming via zoom and also in camera and the two actors will be in the same location but in different areas. It is a female-centric and diverse se…

We're an in-house video department for Lumio (Solar Company out of Utah) doing some 2-3 minute docu-style profile pieces on people that work for the company. We'll be in Orlando doing 4 sit down interviews (indoors), three singles and one two on-camera and 4-5 verite (ish) style of capturing the interviewees doing things they like to do (cooking, singing, playing with their kids, etc). We'll need someone that can sync a Red Komodo and a Canon R5S for the interviews and hide a lav for the verite pieces. There might be some verite in a car, possibly some dirt biking, but the weather is looking like it might rain so we'll need to be prepared for that.

Hi everyone, just putting some preliminary feelers out, since this community is such a wonderful resource -- I'm currently a full-time nonunion production sound mixer & post sound designer for indie films & commercials in NYC. But I have toyed with the idea of moving to Berlin since studying there a few years ago. It's looking like I have a longterm, part-time remote position doing sound design for a video game which would pay basic cost of living. And I also have many friends who still live in Berlin, mainly working in the music/art/tech worlds -- it would be relatively easy to get a visa and find more work in those areas, if I wanted to. …

Hi Friends, I'm visiting family in the UK in June 2022. I have dual citizenship (USA/UK), but lack my uk tax number. I plan on sorting that out asap. The real question is am I required to hold any licenses or certifications to work legally in the sound department with RF? I have 14 years of experience in production(commercial, narrative,reality/tv). recently I've been DIT/Data Manager/VTR/CAM op, but Audio is my home. I've owned and operated many pieces of equipment. I'm comfortable with any kit and kit size. I'll be available 6/13-6/19. I'm just looking to hop on and get comfortable with how sets are in the uk before I move there …

If anyone in the SF general area needs an extra pair of hands/legs/ears, I'm available. I know which end of the mic to point at the talent, but beyond that I know I have much to learn. I'm in San Jose, feel free to message me if you're so inclined.

Hey everyone, I know things are a bit funky right now so I don't imagine anything popping up other than MOW's and the odd commercial. But I'd like to put myself out there as a Sound assist. I usually do sound for smaller projects on the side and being based in Vancouver, BC, there's PLENTY of indies going about. Honestly looking for someone to learn from. This is a great time to really focus while it's slow and do things right. Please feel free to reach me via email or call/text. I am as of this post available 100%. Hi all: Looking for a good, flexible, positive attitude boom op for a run & gun shoot on September 24th, 2020 and October 9th, 2020. For a pro, this will be an easy gig. We will be visiting four employee's homes/office places of work with their boss and presenting them with an award on camera. Each shoot will be very brief, perhaps 3-5 minutes. No recorder, wired boom straight into camera, these recipients are all immune compromised so hand booming them is the only option, no lavs. No rehearsal, no setup, the award will be a surprise to the employee so it will be a single shoulder mounted camera and the boom plugged into camera. …
