Hello! Just something I was curious about; my impression is that most people leave their mics inside their shockmounts and blimps, even when they're not in use (but maybe I'm wrong about this). If this is correct, I was wondering if those of you who have done this for many years have noticed any negative effect on certain kinds of suspension? Thanks in advance! Jesper

Hi All, I was taught to mount mics (a 416 at the time) such that the tip doesn't protrude past the cylindrical section of the basket (where the frontal end cap would attach in the newer generation baskets) in order to achieve maximum wind protection. I never questioned this since but just found myself wanting my MKH60 to protrude an inch further, for convenience. How much difference would this make? Roughly where after the interference tube is the capsule on the 60? Thanks

Well, looks like I got a great deal deal on a bazook.. a Sennheiser 815T. Now, in addition to doing push-ups so I can actually boom with the mic, I'm gonna be shopping for a Kleintuchel-XLR adapter and obviously a suspension mount and windshield that are up to the task of housing this monster. Any other suggestions than Rycote? Rycote would probably be great but it'll end up costing several times the price of the mic.
