osa Posted March 21 Report Posted March 21 I am late to the party but curious if anyone here might be into euroracks / modules / etc. just got my first nifty case starter kit and ordered a kit to assemble a mixer module with my feeble solder skills. Will be buying some factory made modules, but Hoping to build more kits and also some new ones from scratch. I cant believe for how much i was into electronics and electronic music, i was completely oblivious to this world of modular noise making Quote
Jim Feeley Posted March 22 Report Posted March 22 So cool! What modules do you think will work for the music (etc) that you want to create? I bought the PCB to build Ray Wilson's MFOS Noise Toaster: https://musicfromouterspace.com/analogsynth_new/NOISETOASTER/NOISETOASTER.php Got the PCB from synthCube: https://synthcube.com/cart/diy/synth-kits/mfos-noise-toaster And I've been tempted by some other DIY synth stuff, like that from from Erica Synths and Dreadbox... Ya, for me the building appeals as much as the playing. https://www.ericasynths.lv/shop/diy-kits-1/ https://www.dreadbox-fx.com/diy-kits/ But I'm trying to stay under control and stick with, for now, building guitars, amps, pedals.... And deciding I'll probably focus more on building acoustic guitars... Though I am intrigued by this... Jump to 5:00 to get to the nut bit: Quote
osa Posted March 22 Author Report Posted March 22 Thank you for sharing those links i have some downtime today and will def check out! I am in a total wormhole of checking out modules and solder project possibilities. So curious what people here might be into. This is the only photo i have so far of my setup that the eurorack starter kit is being added to. Just got the juno-106 back from repair replacing some busted keys and a few voice modules. The Amiga 1200 is my original from ‘93 no internal hard drive floppy only computer that i recently modd’ed with internal cf and usb floppy sim so its wild to unearth all these old sounds n sequences. The midi to cv is what i am most excited about tying all these units together. The Moog mg1 has cv only and as a kid i was dying to tap into that from the amiga midi output. I am oh so close! Quote

I'm always happy to help spend other people's money 🤪 Cool collection of vintage instruments. Also, I hope some other people chime in here. I think there's a lot of expertise in this community...
